These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern use of this website and the general relationship between GLSAS Inc. ("GLSAS," "we," "us," or "our") and any person or entity requesting, purchasing, or using translation-related services ("client," "you"). By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or request our services.
Website use
The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute professional, legal, or business advice. You may use the website for lawful purposes only. You may not use the website to submit unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, infringing, or malicious material, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the website or its underlying systems.
Translation services
Descriptions of services on this website are general and do not constitute an offer to provide services on any particular terms. A project becomes binding only when the scope, price, delivery requirements, and other applicable terms have been agreed upon in writing by the parties (including by email).
Quotes and project information
Quotes may depend on the source material, language pair, subject matter, formatting requirements, certification requirements, turnaround time, and other project-specific factors. A preliminary estimate may be revised if the actual material differs materially from the information initially provided, or if additional work is required once the source material has been reviewed in full. Any revised quote will be communicated to you before additional work proceeds.
Payment terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due according to the terms specified in the applicable quote or invoice. We reserve the right to require a deposit before work begins on a project, particularly for larger or new-client engagements, and to withhold delivery of completed work until payment has been received in full. Late payments may be subject to a reasonable administrative fee or suspension of ongoing or future work, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Payments via PayPal
Where an invoice is payable online, we may direct you to complete payment through PayPal, including by debit or credit card without a PayPal account. PayPal processes these payments on its own platform and under its own user agreement; we do not receive or store your full card number or other card details, and we are not responsible for the availability or performance of PayPal's service. Please verify the invoice amount shown before completing payment. If you have any question about an invoice or a payment, contact us before proceeding.
Client materials
You are responsible for having the right to provide documents, text, images, or other materials submitted for translation or review, and for the accuracy of the source material and any instructions you provide. You should not submit information that you are not authorized to disclose, or that infringes the rights of a third party.
Additional Conditions
Since translation is a subjective process through which different individuals may express the same meaning using different word choices, we will not be liable for such variations. Additionally, there may be personal preferences in word selection that may be stylistic or based on a person’s familiarity with company- or industry-specific terminology. We will attempt to utilize reference materials and glossaries to a commercially reasonable extent, but there remains the likelihood that You may prefer word insertions or replacements. As such, there may be additional costs associated with the incorporation of differing terms or language into the final translated document.
Should You change the parameters of the project while it is in progress (turnaround time accelerated, source files not provided on time, project’s scope/size expanded, etc.), we reserves the right to apply additional charges and/or extend the deadline in accordance with the changes requested. Furthermore, should you request additional services to be performed such as subjective revisions to language and/or layout, revisions to source files which might affect the target language versions, etc., then such services will be billed in addition to the above.
You must notify us of any concerns with our performance within three (3) business days. If we are not so notified, you waive all rights and claims arising out of such performance.
Should you cancel a translation, you will be obligated hereunder to pay us for all work completed prior to us having reasonably received notification of cancellation.
Intellectual property
Upon full payment, ownership of the final translated deliverable transfers to the client. GLT retains no ownership claim over your original source material or the finished translation, and will not use either for promotional purposes without your written permission.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, website text, branding, graphics, layout, and other website content belong to or are used by GLSAS Inc. and may not be copied, reproduced, or commercially reused without permission.
Third-party links
This website may link to third-party websites, including the affiliated German Language School referenced in the footer. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party website, and inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
Confidentiality
We understand that the documents you send us — contracts, medical records, personal paperwork, business material — are often sensitive. GLSAS Inc. treats all client-submitted material as confidential, and will not disclose it to any third party except:
- the individual translator(s) directly assigned to your project;
- where required by law, court order, or valid legal process; or
- with your written consent.
Documents submitted through this website's contact form are transmitted directly to our business email as an attachment and are not stored on the web server itself.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GLSAS's total liability for any claim arising from a project is limited to the amount you paid for that specific project. GLSAS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost business or lost profits, even if advised such damages were possible.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. The version posted on this page at the time of your use or engagement applies. Material changes affecting an active project will be communicated to the client directly.
Governing law
These Terms and any disputes arising out of them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Collier County, Florida.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GLSAS Inc., its owners, and any contracted translators and freelance linguists from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, libelous, or unlawful content in the source material you provide; (b) the content, nature, or origin of any source documents provided by you for translation; (c) any claim that the source documents or their final translations infringe upon the intellectual property rights, trademarks, copyrights, privacy rights, or trade secrets of any third party; (d) your use of the translated material in a way not agreed to at the time of the project; or (e) your violation of these Terms.

Privacy Notice
Information you provide
If you contact us or request a quote, we may receive information such as your name, email address, telephone number (if provided), project details, deadline, and documents you choose to upload.
How information is used
Information is used solely to respond to inquiries, evaluate translation projects, prepare quotes, provide requested services, communicate with clients, maintain business records, and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Uploaded documents
Documents you attach to the contact form are sent directly to our business email as an attachment and are not saved to the web server's disk at any point. Documents submitted through the quote form may contain personal, confidential, or sensitive information. Please submit only material necessary for evaluating or performing the requested service. Once received, uploaded documents are handled under the same confidentiality commitment described in Section Confidentiality above.
Third-Party Service providers
This website uses the following third-party services, which may process limited technical data (such as IP address) as part of delivering the site to you:
- Cloudflare — content delivery and security (DNS/CDN).
- Web Hosting Infrastructure Provider — web hosting and email delivery for the contact form.
These providers may process information on our behalf and are expected to protect it consistent with this notice.
Payment processing (PayPal)
If you pay an invoice online, payment is processed by PayPal, a third-party payment provider, rather than directly by us. PayPal collects and processes the information needed to complete your payment, such as your card or account details, in accordance with its own privacy policy and user agreement. We receive confirmation that payment was made along with limited transaction details, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not currently set its own cookies. If that changes (for example, if analytics are added), this policy will be updated to describe what's collected and how to opt out.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information and client documents from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
Contact-form submissions exist only as email messages in our business inbox; we do not maintain a separate database of client submissions. Emails, personal information and project materials are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, legitimate business needs, contractual requirements, or applicable legal obligations, after which they will be deleted.
Children's privacy
Our services are directed to businesses and adult individuals. This website is not intended for use by children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page along with a revised "last updated" date.
